Understanding Foreign
Domestic Workers In Singapore
A Transfer Maid refers to a Foreign Domestic Worker (FDW) who is currently residing and working in Singapore and is looking to transfer to a new employer. unlike new helpers who are flown in from overseas, transfer maids hold valid work permits and are seeking a change of employment—often due to the completion of their contract or other mutual agreements with their current employer.
A Reason That Offers
More Certainty & Urgency
They are already accustomed to local living, including navigating public transport, grocery shopping, and residing in high-rise apartments.
Meeting in person allows you to directly assess their personality, language skills, and family chemistry before hiring.
Accessing their Singapore employment history ensures greater transparency regarding experience and tenure compared to fresh candidates.
Hiring locally avoids overseas delays and flight logistics, enabling a quick handover once MOM approves the transfer.

Register for a verified account on our website to view full biodata and profiles of available transfer helpers. Due to MOM regulations, detailed profiles and photos are only accessible via a secure login. Select the candidates that best match your household needs.
We will coordinate with the helper and their current employer (if applicable) to schedule an interview. We highly recommend a face-to-face interview at our agency, or a video call if preferred, to ensure the right fit.
Once you have selected a helper, we will proceed with the service agreement and employment contract. We will require your details (via Singpass) to submit the Work Permit application to the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
Once MOM grants the In-Principle Approval (IPA), we coordinate the official transfer date. Your new helper can then legally and smoothly start working for your family.
We ensure the helper completes her 6-monthly medical examination (if due). Once all formalities are cleared and the work permit is issued, we arrange for the official handover and deployment to your home.
We don't just find a helper; we find your helper. We specialize in matching skills to your specific household needs.

Wondering About Transfer Helpers

There is no official MOM limit on the number of transfers. But, too many transfers in a short time can be a red flag. It may suggest she has trouble settling in. It is always good to ask why she transferred from previous jobs.
There are many positive reasons! The most common include the previous employer moving overseas, the children growing up, or simply completing a contract and wanting a new environment.
Yes, the new employer is responsible for the costs. This includes the MOM application fees, the new insurance and security bond, and any agency fees.
This is a written, signed letter from the maid’s current employer. It must state that they agree to transfer her to a new employer. MOM requires this letter, and an agency will help you get this document.
Reputable agencies, including 114 Maids, provide a replacement period. If things don’t work out within a set time for reasons covered in your agreement, we will help you find a new helper.
